Instructor Profile

Hi guys,

My name is Daniel. SUP lovers. I play SUP at least once a week. Let me share my SUP experience.

How long have I been playing Stand Up Paddling (SUP)?

Ans: Almost 2 years.

How did I get the SUP infomation in the first time?

Ans:
Knew SUP from a friend sharing in McDonald at first and then searched the SUP class available in the city. I therefore joined the training in Sai Kung. Thats how I get started.

How do I think about SUP?

Ans:

1) Playing SUP is relatively safier when compared to surfing as SUPers can play in a huge space everywhere in HK.
2) SUP is a combination of Canoeing and Surfing. What a big fun!!
3) SUP allows you to have various tour around HK
4) Male/Female, All age group, All physical size, Begineer/Expert are welcome for SUPing.

Do I like SUP?
Ans:
Yes, Im luvin’ SUP very much.
Not matter solo paddling or eco tours with friends I do enjoy it.

Why SUP not canoeing or surfing for me?

Ans:
I have been playing canoeing and surfing. However, when I was sitting in the canoe and stuck in the deck for a period of time when having tour, I felt my back very painful. It affected my mood to continue my paddling.
For surfing, this game is fun and surfers are all so hot and stylish. However, the surfing sites in Hong Kong are extremely limited. You may notice there are over 40 surfers waiting a big wave in the sea. Hey man, the size of surfing area is like a basketball court and full of big rocks at the edge. Is it fun to play in such a tiny space? I doubt. Besides this, no matter that you are surfing expert or just a beginner all people are stuck in the same ‘tiny’ space. When big wave arrives, beginners may not have savvy skills to control their boards under such tough condition. That may hurt someone just in the downwind position. Worst still, serious injury will be resultant. When the patient is just a teenager intending to have fun here but gets hurt by you unluckily, how will you feel consciously?
That suitation isnt unreal; however, you may have heard of similar cases in news report before. Know you may think my case is exaggerate, too extreme or infrequent to occur. Who knows? However, what we expect when surfing in tiny space, EVERYONE SHOULD GO HOME SALELY, dont you agree?
The above is my own opinions only. No bias.

Why hesitates to SUPing?

Motto: "iSUP, uSUP"
